Dr Jaisheila Rajput

PhD | Founder & CEO

As Founder and CEO, Dr. Jaisheila Rajput, is passionate about developing economic models for sustainability and transforming the way we do business. She is a fervent believer in building practical and comprehensive solutions that have big value with long-term benefi t and impacts. This view is translated into all TOMA-Now | Tomorrow Matters Now service offerings.

Jaisheila obtained a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cape Town. From the beginning, she has leveraged her research and innovation capabilities in developing practical, industry-relevant solutions. She has a career spanning over a decade in large corporates in the automotive, chemicals and construction industries.

Her rich background includes technical, management systems, strategy and sustainability. She has worked in several countries including South Africa, Germany and Hong Kong. Jaisheila brings a fresh global perspective to the development of solutions for companies doing business in Africa.

Joanna Wallace

Green Economy Specialist

Joanna Wallace has an MSc in Water Security and Development from the University of East Anglia.  She is a project manager and adult education specialist (facilitation) that has 10 years’ work experience and has been working in circular economy programming for 6 years. In that time, Joanna has worked on a diverse range of projects in the green economy within, waste beneficiation, landscape mapping within the informal sector, plastics pollution impact on ecosystem goods and services, enterprise development, business plan development, government official capacity building and in sustainable tourism. She has managed relationships and projects with an assortment of stakeholders in different sectors, at differing levels. Joanna’s skills lie in project management, research design and implementation, data collection and analysis, strategy development and technical writing. Her education focused on sustainable natural resource management and service delivery from a developmental point of view. Within her MSc research, Joanna specifically focused on water governance issues in low-income settings.

Joanna likes working with people and loves being outside in the ocean or hiking.

Kershni Ramreddi

Environmental Management

Kershni Ramreddi holds a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She has worked in environmental management for four years as a project officer and over the last two years she has been working on renewable energy and moving towards a just transition. In that time, she has worked with multiple stakeholders and communities in helping combat the climate crisis in a socially just manner. Kershni has worked on various aspects of environmental conservation such as renewable energy, oil and gas exploration, air and water quality, environmental impact assessment, policy-making and stakeholder participation. She is skilled in all aspects of project work including organising and facilitating stakeholder engagements, public speaking, budget planning and forecasting as well as coordinating all working parts of a project. Kershni has supported multiple environmental justice campaigns for local communities at a grassroots level, living her passion for improving our society. She fights fiercely for the environment, by combating climate change and striving for a more sustainable and cleaner future.

Kershni enjoys nature and chases beautiful sunsets.

Silindokuhle Mdyogolo

Sustainability & strategy

Silindokuhle Mdyogolo holds an MSc Integrated Water Resources management from the University of Dar es Salaam. Her passion is the pursuit of pragmatic solutions to environmental issues that are sustainable and promote economic growth, while making a positive social impact. In her current role at TOMA-Now, Silindokuhle uses her training and critical thinking skills to contribute to data centric and actionable outcomes-driven outputs. Silindokuhle is well-versed in various aspects of sustainability including environmental conservation, catchment management, carbon footprint accounting, waste management and the national regulatory environment. Her skillset lies in strategic thinking; good interpersonal communication and stakeholder engagement, value chain mapping, strategy development and implementation planning; as well as data analytics and visualisation using a number of tools such as ArcGIS, Google Data Studio, MS Excel, and Power BI.

Silindokuhle enjoys making new connections and is a great conversationalist.

Philisiwe Mthembu

Policy Research

Philisiwe Mthembu is a dedicated professional with an MSc degree in Hydrology from the University of Zululand, complemented by her registration as a candidate scientist with SACNASP. She is an enthusiastic and hard-working individual who is a passionate hydrologist, striving to contribute to finding alternative solutions for the scarce water resources in the country.  Philisiwe possesses a diverse skill set encompassing research, data analysis, GIS, report development, and project management. A standout attribute is her profound understanding of the South African environmental management policy and regulatory framework, making her a valuable asset in the field.

Philisiwe enjoys working with people while valuing moments of solitude and introspection.

Glen Leballo

Data Visualisation

Glen Leballo is an adept professional with a passion for addressing complex environmental issues. He holds an Honours degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg. His passion is to effect change and development in recycling, waste disposal, public health, and water and air pollution control. In his current role at TOMA-Now, he applies expertise in data analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking to drive data-centric and actionable outcomes-driven outputs. Glen is actively honing his abilities in data management and storytelling through comprehensive data analysis, visualisations, and data cleaning – leveraging tools such as Lookerstudio, Power BI and Microsoft Excel. Additionally, he demonstrates proficiency in Polymath, Chem CAD, Python, AutoCAD and Canva.

Glen enjoys new challenges and is a music enthusiast at heart.

Akeera Deodhari

Carbon & Emissions

Akeera Deodhari has a Bachelor of Sciences in Chemical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is a driven individual and a passionate environmentalist who strives to do her part in making the world a better place. She is a meticulous and detail-oriented individual who is driven to find and develop solutions that have a lasting environmental and social impact. Akeera boasts a diverse skillset including research, carbon footprint assessment, data analysis and visualization. She is proficient in Python programming, Microsoft Visio and Office applications, Google Data Studio and Power BI.

Akeera enjoys learning and experiencing new things and is a bibliophile.
